I've been called many names in my professional career, a "Muse," "Social Conductor," and "Visionnaire" to name a few. Overall, I'm just an organized freak with visions that pop in my head that I bring to life through experiential, edutainment guest experiences, and wow factor event design.
I live for "Keeping Events Epic!"

Bio
Portia's career in the entertainment industry jump-started after college when she signed with a modeling agency in Miami. Five years later she started producing fashion shows, then stepped behind the scenes as VP of Talent Development for Ethnicity Model Management - New York, followed by a leap of faith move to Los Angeles where she worked for an Oscar award-winning talent management firm who successfully guided the careers of Halle Berry, Taraji P. Henson and many others.
Her breakthrough into the events industry was when she was offered the position of Social Events Manager for the annual American Black Film Festival (ABFF), planning and executing celebrity red carpet events throughout the 4-day festival for 6 years. In 2008, Portia transitioned back to the East Coast and spear-headed the events department at the Harvey B. Gantt Center, a state of the art museum and cultural center with three levels of event space. As Events Manager, she managed over 450 events within 3 years, and served as internal event planner for museum exhibition openings, including Tavis Smiley's America I am Grand Opening Exhibit.
Since the 2013 launch of The Kee Group, Portia has been the creative force planning many high-profile events, including former Miss USA Cheslie Kryst's Homecoming Reception, worked two Democratic National Conventions, and has branded herself as the "Event Philanthropist" executing numerous annual philanthropic fundraiser events and galas.
Portia holds a B.A. in Public Relations from North Carolina A&T State University, and earned a certificate in Meeting & Event Planning from UNC-Charlotte. She is based in the Queen City of Charlotte, and is mommy to her Princess Victoria.
Every event begins with Inspiration...
I credit my design skills to my grandmother Willie Mae Floyd. For Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, and every other holiday, she created the most beautiful and fanciful table settings. I was always amazed by her ability to mix different linens, prints, and textures for each tablescape, along with crystal glassware, matching napkin holders, chargers, and delicate china, all complimented by a stunning centerpiece under her glorious crystal chandelier.
My inspiration for events and entertainment developed at a very young age. In my hometown of Raleigh, NC, the capital city, volunteering and supporting a candidate’s political campaign was a way of life that surrounded me. I was also the oldest grandchild of Thomas and Elnora Kee, Sr. They included me in their efforts to strengthen the community through philanthropic events. I learned first hand how to host charitable events, entertain guests in the home with “Southern Hospitality,” and the importance of good manners and etiquette. These values are still with me today.
My "aha moment" happened my senior year in high school when I became a Debutante. Through that experience I attended my first gala and immediately fell in love with elaborate events. It was my calling to use my imagination, transform a room, create interactive experiences, and WOW guests as soon as they step foot in the door.
